Summary
Sqwait works entirely on your Mac. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
What Sqwait accesses
- Process list — reads the macOS process list (via sysctl) to detect when Claude Code is running. Never stored or transmitted.
- Screen information — reads window positions to show the exercise overlay on the correct monitor. No screenshots are taken.
- Exercise stats — stored locally in
~/Library/Application Support/Sqwait/. Never leaves your Mac. - License key — stored securely in the macOS Keychain.
- API key (optional) — if you enable API rate limit monitoring, your Anthropic API key is stored in the macOS Keychain and only used to check your rate limits.
What Sqwait does NOT do
- Does not collect analytics or telemetry
- Does not track your location
- Does not read your clipboard, files, or terminal content
- Does not send any data to our servers
- Does not use cookies or tracking pixels
- Does not share data with third parties
Data storage
All data is stored locally on your Mac:
~/Library/Application Support/Sqwait/— exercise statistics~/Library/Preferences/— app settings- macOS Keychain — license key and API key (encrypted)
Uninstall
To completely remove Sqwait and all its data, use the "Uninstall Sqwait" option in the menu bar dropdown.
Updates
Sqwait checks for updates via Sparkle (open-source). This only checks a public URL for version information and does not send any personal data.
